I will think twice about hand quilting
I will use Pearl cotton like everyone else
I will make myself finish it within twelve months
This time...
I took way too long to finish it - two years too long!
I was so excited to start that I didn't take the time out to get the proper thread
But, I did enjoy every stitch.
And I do think all that love is appreciated

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful job! I love the quilting pattern - it does look like perle thread though - what did you use instead? I love the way the pattern 'waves' up and down, dipping in and out of the stripy border.

ReplyDeleteIt may have taken two years to complete but it was worth it. Absolutely stunning and the young man isn't too bad either..vbg. Who cares what kind of thread you used - so long as you enjoyed using it.

ReplyDeleteLooks like it's a hit! I love the colours. And I haven't used perle cotton for hand quilting. I buy something from my lqs called hand quilting cotton thread. Imaginatively named, no? It's glazed so it pulls through the batting beautifully.

ReplyDeleteI'm off to get a special foot for my machine to make a single bed quilt because I know I'll never finish the hand quilting
oh and when you need perle cotton there was an ebay shop with every colour under the sun if you look up perle cotton!
