Last week I picked up my Pistachio coloured Mother's Day present. All I can say is We Have Been Baking!
First these treats from Cathy, which I was dying to try with a Kitchen Aid vs the handheld beater - what a delight!
Then I made a chocolate sponge for a dinner party. No photos, but imagine this, layered chocolate sponge, filled with whipped cream and raspberries and topped with more cream, grated chocolate and raspberries scattered on the top. All wonderful except I had a full bowl of cream and raspberries left over. That's what I mean by DANGEROUS!
So, what to do with a bowl of cream....um, a decadent late night banana split. And then how about these. Oh, just a little moreish.

Yum - have lusted after a Kitchen Aid for years, as you say though, dangerous.
Completely urelated question to a quilting queen. I've never quilted but want to make a quilt for each of the girls incorporating pieces of loved clothing, materials. Do you have to decide on a pattern before you start cutting, working? I just wonder if I can choose a size for pieces, say 10 x 10 and start cutting and figuring it out as I go, or if you really need to have them all done to lay out before you start.
oh i'm coming to your house for afternoon tea~!
fantastic Tam! Glad you went for the pistachio! I give your meringues 10 out of 10!
so lucky!
Wow - that does look dangerous - have fun creating in the kitchen!
Oooh very pretty. Nice colour too.
those meringues looks yum!!!
Haven't seen the pistachio before. Perfect match for your kitchen. And a lovely colour combination with the pink meringues. Oh, and the plate is perfect, thank you so much!
Yummy!!! What a gorgeous colour that green is - lucky girl!
Love the colour of that mixer...maybe it's time to get a real mixer instead of the Bamix I've been using for years. Maybe then I won't end up with anymore mutant Miss Marzie meringues...
I am so envious - have you any idea how long I have coveted one? And wonderful colour choice too.
I am probably even more envious than Ali... and I want one so badly that I am prepared to let my husband choose the colour. I don't care.
i am green-eyed! what a beauty...that colour is delicious. and the pink meringues are just my cup of tea. thay look so pretty on that saucer. happy baking! x
