How I would love to be able to draw. My creative abilities just do not extend to paper. This, is a close as I will ever get to my art gracing our walls.
I have been meaning to put up this little collection for a very, very long time. Almost all of these plates have a tale and are very special to me. Mostly gifts, collected from around the world by people I love and who know my love of blue and white china.
I will simply never tire of my blue and white china, I am sure.

Silhouettes
I am loving all of the silhouettes that are around at the moment, even though they are popping up almost everywhere.
I did these silhouettes of the children last year but gave the first set away to my mum, who loved them.
I finally got around to doing another set for our hallway. It took me a while to work out what frame but I think this big black style looks best. They are hanging My Wall at the moment and I will move them at a later stage. It is amazing how much they really look like each of the children, probably not so much to you, but to me they are so individual and realistic. They make me smile everytime I walk past them.
I also loved the silhouettes on this little top that I bought for Kitty. So sweet and innocent.
I went to Stitches and Craft today and met good a stack of bloggers. More about that next time.
Have a great weekend.

White
I re-did My Wall the other day. All neutral and white. This scene is so serene as I open the front door.
The runner is from our holiday to France. I love the embroidery and hardanger detail.
Everyone who know me, knows how much I love shells. I love the mirror too, this one usually belongs here and there is also one here.
Of course you didn't really think I could totally live without colour, did you? On the other side of the wall is this..jpg)
And thank you for the anniversary messages. My husband wasn't too impressed to see his photo on my blog - he is a bit more private than me.

Favourites
Choosing my favourite flower is like choosing my favourite colour....there are so many magnificent choices.
I do however, have a favourite. Peony roses. Not really a rose, but definately fragrant and volumous like a rose. They are only available in Melbourne thoughout the month of November.
I love bringing them home from the florist, all tightly bunched together, you can only anticipate the beauty inside. Day by day the bloom opens to reveal this....
It seems like there are thousands of petals. Everytime I walk past them I cannot help but marvel at just how beautiful they are. Against the smokey brown wall they look stunning.
Once again, a beautiful sight to open my door to.

Springtime
Although Autumn is my favourite season, spring comes close behind.
When we arrived home it was almost midnight and not much of the garden could be seen. But, early the next morning, still suffering from jet lag, I arose at five. It was so very blissfull watching the sun rise over the garden, sipping my tea whilst everyone else was slumbering.
We go away every year in September or October and exploring the garden on our return is one of my favourite joys. This time, the foxgloves were out, as well as the bearded irises and roses, including my favourite Paul Cezanne.
As you can imagine, I quickly filled the vases with blooms from my garden.
Roses and parsley gone-to-seed.
Roses, hippiastrums and lillies. The lillies were a welcome home present from my man.
I love all the vases on the table like this, the flowers all different styles and forms but the same colour. What a beautiful sight to open the door to, it almost feels like a florist.

A WORLD WITHOUT UFOs
Just imagine our world without UFOs, or USOs (Un-Started Objects) for that matter. Imagine, girls, the amount of headspace we would free up. There are people out there you know, who don't have UFOs or USOs. That is because they don't make. For a minute I think their world is a more peaceful one, without all those creative thoughts running through their heads, then I think that it would also be a little too empty for me.
Yesterday I finished a few USOs that I had. I had bought the paint in November and the fabric a long time before that.
This wall is the first thing you see when you step in our front door. Behind it is the mayhem of our life; the family room, kitchen and playroom, sometimes tidy, sometimes not. I change this wall whenever I feel the need to redecorate. This time I repainted it in a lovely smokey brown. The runner I made in the Amy Butler's gorgeous Sunbloom . It picks up all the colours of our home; blue, green, taupe and now brown. And it is all a perfect backdrop for my new orchid.
What a pleasing site to open the door to!
