Illusions

Thank you so much for all of the laundry love that I received after my five things I love post. I do feel a little guilty though that I have been misleading you all. Let me get one thing straight, my laundry doesn't look like that all of the time. Actually, not often at all!

In fact I have received a few comments along the journey of this blog which imply what a wonderfully tidy house I must keep. I wish.

I think it all stems back to my styling days when I was working as a Product Manager for Patons. In the beginning I would often do the styling for the photoshoots. As a result, I just can't bear to take a photo now without all the little background details being just so. So, when you see that lovely photo of my wall, do NOT think that the whole house looks like that! In fact these days, with three children, I really can't seem to get it all tidy at one time....I might get the bedrooms looking schmick but aghhh the laundry or vice versa.

So, to prevent myself being labelled a fraud, here is the usual state of my laundry. Right now, I am in the midst of making a bucket load of stock for this market. I hope I have disappointed you all but rather just made you smile.

Note: it does get worse than this

I am not disappointed!I understand what you're saying, I feel the same. We just want to show the clean side of our lives, but with children it's not easy to keep it tidy and in order. But even if your laundry doesnt't look " perfect" it's still lovely!! ;)

I just let out a huge sigh of relief!!

I have to admit that I do try to tidy up a bit before taking pics of the kids/house etc... I hate looking back at a photo & seeing my laundry basket or some other mess in the background!

PS I know what you mean about keeping the house tidy, there is always mess somewhere in our house!

I must say I also gave a big sigh of relief - and a big smile! Normalcy of such a well used room is great to see, but I also do love your snazzed up piccies - 'the norm' and 'the goal'!

LOL! My place looks like that all the time, every single room. But I do understand the need to style your blog photos to look pristine. It's aspirational to us and to you. Ha ha ha! Good luck with the market!

I understand! having a two storey house means that I have either upstairs or downstairs clean and tidy - rarely both!! and if I do manage it, I am known to get really crabby when the children get home and MESS IT ALL UP! Isn't that pathetic!!! I need to get a life!!!

Phew - I'm so relieved. That was very brave of you showing it in all its glory. I think it is a wonderful space for you and just as lovely with the mess!!

Haha! That is hilarious! What are the odds that we would both be baring our souls at the same time?! Its nice to be reminded that no one is perfect, so its ok to relax!

i also believe everything has it's place, but then reality of three kids sets in. my living area is usally clean and tidy, because the kids are not allowed to bring their things in there. i have a 24 hour rule...if it is in there more than 24 hours it's mine to do as i please with. they don't like that. but as for the rest of the house, lets just say if someone stops by all the doors are closed. my laundry room is much worse!!
