A Little Bit Sad.

There has been another birthday in our house. It did make me feel a little sad.

This little person.....

Has turned two.

And I really don't want him to grow up. Well, of course I do want him to get bigger because it is so fun listening to all the things he says and I am just itching to see what becomes of his life and who he will be. But I really would like him to stay my baby forever. I would love to pickle him right now. Or at least save a day, in our sweet little life, to come back to every now and then.

He is such a gorgeous, energetic, endearing child. He has completely changed the way I felt about boys. He completely melts my heart in a very unique way.

I am looking forward to the next year baby. I will just remind you to grow-up slowly.

Happy Birthday little guy! I love that picture of the back pocket of his shorts.

And isn't that the best reason for blogging? To have a way of pickling these precious days for posterity.

Oh beautifully said. As I sit here and feed my 9 week old DS (yes at 1.20am) I often wonder the same thing and often thought about a needle to keep him my baby. Thankyou for sharing and looking forward to reading what he becomes in the many years to come...

Even though I've only had 1 birthday so far...I felt that it was a bittersweet experience. So happy to see them thriving and growing, yet a little sad that those baby times are flying by so fast. I imagine it's 100 times more so when it's your last baby. Happy birthday Ed. x

My baby is 16 now. I still have the smell of him at about your boy's age, fresh out of the bath and all cuddly in a towel. Baby soap, and talc and sunshine.

Much better than his actual teenage boy smell. :)

Wasn't he a beautiful baby! And he's super cute now - what is it about little boys that makes their Mummy's melt. I shall never know!!

Hi Tamara nice to meet you today. This is a beautiful post ... I know exactly how you feel ... little boys and their mummy's have such special relationships. My girls love me but my boy simply adore me! (very good for the ego!)I'm sure it will wear off ... but I will love it while it lasts :).
